Throughout the years in the Hollywood Film industry its production has changed. From the storyline, visuals, cuts, audio, scenes, acting, and character development, the movie industry. This started way before Hollywood Movies came alive.



When was the first movie made, people may think movies were like we now know them. Mostly more. than an hour, different genre but in reality, everything started with just Horse Gallop.


The Horse in Motion the first motion picture by Eadweard Muybridge October 19,1878. The first phase of the moving picture was just movement, with no sound or color at first. Really focusing in people and their actions like dancing, walking, vendors, the movement of trains, bicycles or even kids playing. For this era, this was a complete shock and now everything could have been captured in motion picture being things from another lens.

A man by the name of Charles Frances Jenkins is documented as creating the first “film” with a motion picture camera, a view of people dancing in 1894, which later he sold to Thomas Edison in the United States.




Filmmakers began to move beyond the technical aspects of just reproducing and showing movement and delved into storylines, plots, and characters. Creating the beginning of the movies as silent films. In 1903, Great Train Robbery (1963) a duration on 10 minutes was seen and was the first to be recognizable as a “Western” genre narrative with a plot. Filmed by Edwin S. Porter, the film amazed audiences and its production company quickly became a household name the Edison Manufacturing Company.







D. W. Griffith began experimenting with longer films until he successfully produced the first feature-length film in 1915, using twelve full reels of film, entitled Birth of a Nation.  This made a huge impact on the political views and controversial injustice, while at the same time opening a new lengths and techniques in new movies. Most importantly, Griffith’s feature film proved America’s place as a leader in the most innovative filmmaking techniques.

Classical Hollywood cinema

a star-studded, extravagant, and dramatic era for filmmakers and actors on the West Coast, stretching from the early 1920s to the late 1950s. As the Movie industry grew, the filming industry was relieving more on “celebrities” which were the people that the viewers where expecting to see in the next motion picture.By this, the filmmakers realize they where not only now bringing back the audience because of the movie or motion picture but also relying on the actor and charismatic action, that portrait through the camera.

With time Movies started to create propaganda against political views and religious beliefs, with morals and values questioned. which the code era was created.“The Hays Code was this self-imposed industry set of guidelines for all the motion pictures that were released between 1934 and 1968,” says O'Brien. “The code prohibited profanity, suggestive nudity, graphic or realistic violence, and sexual persuasions. "No picture shall be produced which will lower the moral standards of those who see it.


Later on, this code was taken back due to all the loops and sides the filmmakers where able to find do the scenes Movies Now are a huge part of our sources and things to do in life, even if the history of films, motion pictures, and movies may seem long it's a huge part of most people's lives. With the new genres of action: action, western, thriller, Romance, Comedy adventure, and more. Everyone can find their own interest in different movies. And if by any point yore not enjoying the movies you just might be watching the wrong movie.
